Al-Arabi Investment Group Co. “AB Invest”, is the wholly owned investment banking arm of Arab Bank plc, and is licensed and regulated by the Jordan Securities Commission (JSC). Established in 1996 as the first independent investment banking firm in Jordan, AB Invest pioneered integrated investment banking services that include asset management, brokerage, investment banking, and more recently, private equity. 

In 2018, AB Invest was appointed as the Investment Manager of the SME Investment Fund.

The Investment Manager

Subhi joined the SME Investment Fund as a Financial Analyst in December 2021. Prior to joining the Fund, Subhi worked as a Core Assurance Associate at PwC Middle East. During his studies, Subhi interned at both the Assurance and Advisory departments at Ernst & Young (Jordan).

Subhi hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT). 

Subhi is a CFA Charterholde.

Subhi Al-Kabbani, CFA

Farah joined the SME Investment Fund as a Financial Analyst in May 2022. Following the completion of her Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Management at the University of Leicester in 2018, Farah entered into the Real Estate Sector as a residential sales and development consultant in London. 

Farah moved on to pursue an MSc in Real Estate Investment at Cass Business School, City University London in 2020, then took part in the establishment of a UK residential real estate fund, bolstering the investment strategy and financial structuring of prospective deals.


Farah Batayneh

Soliman joined the SME Investment Fund as a Financial Analyst in October 2022. Prior to joining the team, Soliman was an Assistant Relationship Manager at Arab Jordan Investment Bank (AJIB). During his studies, Soliman also interned at the Transaction Advisory Services (TAS) department at Ernst & Young (Jordan). 

Soliman Holds a Bachelor’s degree In International Business, Finance and Economics with Honors from the University of Manchester.


Soliman Al-Lawzi

Hamza Joined the SME Investment Fund as a Financial Analyst in May 2023.
Prior to joining the Fund, Hamza worked as an Investment Research and Financial Analysis Officer at the Housing Bank for Trade and Finance.

Hamza holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Jordan.

Hamza is a CFA Charterholder in addition to earning the AFM accreditation.

Hamza Zarari, CFA

Sameh joined the SME Investment Fund as a Financial Analyst in August 2020. Prior to joining the Fund, Sameh worked as a Communication Manager on the $2 billon Dubai Metro Project at his time with Jacobs in Dubai.

Sameh holds a Masters in Management form Judge Business School at Cambridge University and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with Construction Management from the University of Leeds.

Sameh is a CFA Charterholder. 

Sameh Shehadeh, CFA

Ayat is the Senior Director at the SME Investment Fund which she joined in March 2018. She is Vice Chairman of Zalloum Group, Juman Pharmaceutical, ManafSoft and Biotech and a Director of Medmac for Manufacturing Agricultural Chemicals & Veterinary, Eye Special Hospital, Al Qasr for Touristic Investments, Crystel, Sands National Academy, Index Investments, Japanese Flavor, Natej Soft, Arabian Development for Food Industries, Ream Software and Al-Sakha. Prior to that, she was the Financial Planning and Analysis Manager at ACWA Power, a major developer, investor, co-owner and operator of a portfolio of power generation and desalination water production plants in 10 countries. She focused on valuing and budgeting the company’s investments in Jordan while overseeing the business development team’s implementation of new projects. Before that, Ayat was the Financial Consultant of Phoenix Arab Holding where she worked on restructuring the company and developing a customized strategic business plan. Ayat was previously a Senior Portfolio Manager at Capital Investments where she managed their flagship fund and several other discretionary portfolios.

 

Ayat is a CFA Charterholder with a BA in Finance with a minor in Business Administration from Yarmouk University, Jordan and has completed an Executive Leadership program by MIT. Ayat is also the co-founder the Makanati Executive Presence Mentorship Program.

Ayat Al-Hunaiti, CFA

Sami joined the SME Investment Fund as a Director in December 2018. He is a Director of Hilayel Group, Sands National Academy, Al Barakeh Food Production, Japanese Flavor, Al Amal Hospital and Al Manara International Shipping LLC. Prior to joining the Fund, Sami worked for 11 years at the Transaction Advisory Services department at Ernst & Young (Jordan) where he was a Director. Sami has extensive experience in transaction advisory work including buy side and sell side due diligence, IPO readiness, and portfolio optimization. Sami spent one year at Qatar Development Bank as an Investment Manager supervising an SME investment fund (Estithmar) and a seed capital fund (Ithmar). Prior to that, Sami spent 5 years in the Audit department at EY where he led statutory audits for privately and publicly listed companies. 

Sami completed his MBA from Judge Business School - University of Cambridge in 2016 and his B.A in Accounting from the University of Jordan in 2002. 

Sami completed his CPA from New Mexico in 2002 and had also completed executives courses at Stanford and Harvard universities.


Sami Masannat, CPA

Jameel joined the Arab Bank Group as the Managing Director of the SME Investment Fund in 2017. He is the Chairman of Sands National Academy and Japanese Flavor, a Director of Al Amal Hospital, Al Qasr for Touristic Investments, Zalloum Group, Juman Pharmaceuticals, DigiZag, Hilayel Group, Crystel, ManafSoft, Medmac for Manufacturing Agricultural Chemicals & Veterinary, Eye Special Hospital, Arabian Development for Food Industries, Al-Sakha, Natej Soft, Al Barakeh Food Production, Biotech and Al Manara International Shipping. Prior to that, Jameel was a Senior Director at Foursan Group which he joined in 2005. Jameel served as a Director of Safwa Islamic Bank, Al Qasr for Touristic Investment, Shamsuna Power, and Nafith Logistics.

Jameel is the President of the CFA Society Jordan, an exam grader and a lecturer on the subjects of accounting, economics, finance and ethics. He is also a member of the Investment Committee for Oasis500.

Jameel is a CFA Charterholder in addition to an MBA in Finance with Highest Honours and Valedictorian from NYIT. Jameel also holds a BA in Economics with Great Distinction from McGill University.
